There’s also the option to take the kids horseback riding, an activity included in this limited time package. For both longtime and first time riders, The Belize Collection’s expert horse wrangler Sherman is a trove of great instruction and information on the various horses that live onsite at The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant. Kids can experience the lodge’s grounds on horseback as they and their horse make way under Sherman’s direction through orange groves and trails that border the rainforest. For even further high-octane thrills, visitors are welcome to use complimentary bikes and kayaks and explore the many trails that course throughout the grounds.
Is your kid seeking even more adventure? Then sign them up for the 3-day Jungle Rangers program where outdoor wilderness experts will teach kids the fundamentals of wilderness survival in a safe and controlled environment. Kids will learn wilderness navigation, how to start a fire in the wild, how to set up a tent, wildlife track spotting, and plant identification. Participants who complete the program will be awarded a jungle ranger certificate, granting them bragging rights in addition to fundamental outdoor skills.
Once the rainforest portion of your itinerary is through, the vacation continues at The Lodge at Jaguar Reef where you and the kids can play all day on the beaches of Hopkins and in the Caribbean Sea. The lodge features two onsite pools with Charlie’s Pool Bar featuring a swim-up bar where you can enjoy a brilliant cocktail while the kids splash around.
Water activities also extend to the sea where paddleboards and kayaks can be used to traverse the blue of the Caribbean.
