Resorts Inspired by Belizean Nature and Culture

Imagine the moment… as you step inside your suite and instantly feel in touch with the tropical environment.

You’re looking for more than location and comfort when considering your accommodations and yes, The Belize Collection resorts nail both. But aside from prime locations, every design choice is made to stimulate your curiosity, so you can relax in restorative spaces that unfold as oh-so-intriguing Belizean multisensory experiences and ooze tranquility.

Conceptualized in collaboration with local interior design talent Michelle Oliver and her daughter Brittnay Tench. This female-founded and run firm not only aligns with our values but also creates interiors that suspend time. Evocative and unmistakably Belizean.

You’ll also come to realize that nothing feels over-the-top and yet no detail is overlooked. Open living spaces with glass sliders make it blissfully hard to distinguish indoors from out, always inviting you to connect with the surrounding landscape.

Always a penchant for tactical, sculptural and natural touches

At The Lodge at Jaguar Reef, it’s the blues of the Caribbean Sea, eclectic large portraits, and three-dimensional wall sculptures made from strands of coconut husks and dried gourds, suspended like treasures gathered from the shoreline, that offer the aesthetic underpinnings of a fierce Belize story.

Meanwhile, at The Lodge at Sleeping Giant or its more contemporary sister The Banks, marvel at the suite’s color palettes that blend shades of warm woods with accent walls of large banana leaves. It’s something about the fusion of tactile materials that brings the tropics inside, while the high ceilings and oversized windows add to the allure.

Above all, what makes this feel so good is knowing these are ethically sourced artisanal pieces by Eliza Barbacy of Itzawood.

Together with her local team, they actively reforest and work with FSC-certified woods, following a calendar that determines when a tree can be cut and how many need to be replanted in return. It’s a double win, replenishing the Maya Biosphere Reserve while creating education and employment opportunities for local artisans, many of them women.

No matter which resort you call home, our signature look of rattan lamps and baskets, hand-woven from the jungle’s bounty, commemorates the local lore. They’ll catch your eye at check-in, again in our restaurants and bars and of course in your private quarters.
