An Evening of Cocktails with the Kroks

The Belize Collection is welcoming for the first time the acapella singing, toe-tapping, tux-cladded group The Harvard Krokodiloes. Founded in 1946, the Krokodiloes have an extensive repertoire rooted in jazz and swing. Since its inception, touring has been an annual tradition for the Kroks who are bringing America’s Golden Age music to Belize this January. We’ve been lucky enough to snag a date with the Kroks at each of our main properties. Showtunes will fill the air at The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant, The Lodge at Jaguar Reef, and Umaya Resort.

On January 18, the Harvard Krokodiloes will begin the final leg of their winter tour in Belize with their first stop at Umaya Resort, Placencia. Twelve Harvard undergraduates will serenade the guests of Umaya Resort during cocktail hour at Restaurante Laguna. As the sun sets behind the Maya Mountains across the Belizean lagoon, American classics will come to life. On the same date, the Kroks will zip over to The Lodge at Jaguar Reef in Hopkins for another round of cocktails and old-school acapella – a stunning and slightly surprising addition to the perfect vacation in Southern Belize. While the waves of the Caribbean Sea gently lap against the shore, thumbs will snap as sweet melodies mingle with salty beach air.

The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant will host the talented Kroks on January 19 for the final evening session of singing and sipping at the award-winning Grove House. Typically host to the American crocodile, the sounds of the river meandering through the jungle will harmonize with classics from the Great American Songbook. Specially crafted cocktails will be available for this one-of-a-kind cocktail hour to get guests ready for dinner. Be treated to a live performance of songs from over thirty albums created over the decades.
