The Belize Collection Expands Portfolio with Blue Reef Beach Resort and Marina, Placencia
Belmopan, Belize — January 12, 2026 — The Belize Collection is pleased to announce that it has officially taken over management of Blue Reef Beach Resort and Marina, a beachfront property in Placencia formerly known as Robert’s Grove Beach Resort. The transition includes Blue Reef Beach Resort, Blue Reef Island, the marina, and two on-site restaurants, marking an exciting new chapter for this well-established beachfront destination.
This transition marks an exciting new chapter for the resort, as Blue Reef Beach joins The Belize Collection’s growing portfolio of hospitality experiences across Southern Belize alongside flagship resort The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant and The Lodge at Jaguar Reef. With a focus on authentic Belizean experiences and elevated resort stays, The Belize Collection will bring its signature approach to management while honoring the resort’s long-standing presence in the Placencia community.
The Belize Collection’s management philosophy centers on creating places that feel connected to their surroundings by uplifting local talent and culture. Belizeans and guests can expect enhanced operational standards and updates across all facets of the guest experience. As part of the transition, Executive Chef Rahim Melendez will bring his creative vision to the resort’s culinary offerings, introducing his approach to flavor, technique, and storytelling through food.
