Scarlet Macaw Tour
Departs from Hopkins
Scarlet macaws are one of the most magnificent birds in Belize. From December to April every year, scarlet macaws leave their nesting grounds in the Chiquibul Rainforest and fly to the small Mayan village of Red Bank in South Stann Creek to feed. Scarlet macaws are one of the precious species of birds in Belize known for their iconic colors and long wingspan. In this area you may even spot Belize’s national bird, the keel-billed toucan. Take a short walk down to the river and have a cool swim before heading back to the lodge for lunch.
